We loved this proposal! Leon and Ruchi have a few special connections to this part of the city, the Meatpacking District. It’s the home of their first dates and now their engagement! Ruchi was sent off on a scavenger hunt the morning of the proposal but she thought it was a gift for her achievement of passing a big test! Little did she know that Leon would be waiting at the end, in the rain, holding a single rose. After she said yes we took a few portraits of these two cuties before sending them off! Congratulations!
Sometimes here at IHNY we get certain phone calls about future sessions that we cannot wait to see all the way through, Isaac’s proposal plan was certainly one of those. His plan to literally sweep his lady off her feet was so romantic and sweet we are so happy we were able to be involved.
Isaac is currently on deployment overseas in Germany so for this special time he planned to make the most of his time with his lady, Esther. These two are from Pennsylvania and she thought she was getting a romantic weekend away in NYC. The morning of this proposal they visited the Cloisters to get themselves in the mood for their romantic carriage ride later in Central Park. Despite the moodiness of the rainy day it set the perfect backdrop for the carriage ride followed by a stroll to Belvedere Castle where Isaac planned to propose.
After a shocked Esther said yes we wandered around the castle and through Shakespeare’s Garden for some portraits of the lovebirds. Isaac had Esther amazing blue dress specially made for her earlier this year and sent to her from Germany! These two looked great and congratulations!
It’s been so awesome being such a big part of Arabelle’s life this year! In October she will be 1 whole year, wow! For this session we wandered around Kris and Anzalee’s downtown apartment building and then over to the seaport. From the roof to the basketball court we had a great time!
We certainly love photographing proposals and we love when we get to make it an official “session” with the proposal sprinkled in the middle. Mandy and Hans were visiting New York from the Netherlands. Hans had secretly planned to propose to Mandy in the middle of the session on our cue. We met this cute couple at 72nd and Central Park West on a warm summer day, Mandy dressed in a pretty Ted Baker dress (yes girl!) and Hans in a jacket. After taking some photos along the lake and on the Bow Bridge we took Mandy aside for some “solo pictures.” This was the cue for Hans to get the ring and his nerves ready! She said yes and we did more fun pictures around the park but with a shocked Mandy! Best of luck you two!
We’re so glad Kim and John decided to elope in such a romantic place as Shakespeare’s Garden in Central Park. We loved Kim’s gorgeous blue gown and John looked great! After a simple and sweet ceremony we wandered around the garden and up to Belvedere Castle before these two jet off for a very romantic dinner! Congratulations!

What Cassie thought was a perhaps a normal day to go have breakfast somewhere in Central Park turned out to be her proposal on the Literary Walk in Central Park! Cassie and Mike live in Minneapolis and were visiting NYC and attending some of the US Open matches. With some careful preparation with Mike before we were positioned as normal “tourists” on park benches and ready for him to drop to his knee! After we captured the moment (and it was also caught by Hayley Paige, a wonderful bridal gown designer!) we wandered a bit of the park for some fun-still-in-some-shock portraits!
Aloha! Meet Naomi and Michael who are from Hawaii and eloped here in NYC! Naomi is born and raised Hawaii and Michael is from San Diego but has lived in Hawaii for a long time. After a short and sweet ceremony at City Hall we headed out into the summer streets. We had a great time with this couple wandering around downtown and into SoHo. Afterwards we sent them off to Po for a romantic just-married lunch!
