When we got an email from a boy named Loren about his proposal plan to a girl named Lauren we thought we might be being punked. Loren and Lauren?! This was fantastic! After the usual back and forth emails detailing the “plan” with Loren we had our spot. Due east of Belvedere Castle in Central Park. Following (girl) Lauren’s surprise and also surprise by the photographers (including one from China!) we wandered aorund the castle for some portraits. (Boy) Loren played some baseball so we even got out onto the fields for some fun portraits! Best part about this couple is that although they are from San Francisco, Karen is in SF this weekend and gets to meet with them! Door to door service at IHNY!
Ash & Adam ❤️ (at Flatiron District, NYC)
Effie and Winston returned to New York from Shanghai and they asked us to shoot their engagement session! We met this power couple in the Flatiron district, where we managed to get some fantastic photos while all of 23rd and 5th was blocked off for the Pride parade. We like to think the police did it just for us. Afterwards, we went down to the Lower East Side, and got some amazing shots in the middle of Houston Street. We then made our way down to Dumbo via the F train where we hit the walls around the York St station, including the giant Shepard Fairey mural. We ended our session with some breathtaking photos along the waterfront. This was an AWESOME session, and hopefully we’ll see more of these two in the future! I Heart Shanghai anyone?
tonight’s awesome sunset crossing into Manhattan #qtrain #IHNY
Jillian and Josh were on vacation in NYC from Calgary and we met this adorable couple at one of the biggest meeting spots in NYC, the SE corner of Central Park. You know that plaza in front of the Plaza Hotel! After we wandered around the park we hopped on the subway down to Chinatown to one of my favorite hidden streets, Doyers Street, in Chinatown. The history behind this street is pretty thrilling and I highly recommend checking out this podcast about it. Jillian and Josh told me they had seen a little bit of Chinatown but not this part, the real stuff! Once our session was over we asked if we could leave them in that area or they wanted help with directions out, they said no we want to explore! Perfect so we sent them off to Joe’s Shanghai for the best soup dumplings in NYC! I hope you two went… mmmm I’m getting hungry now!
Deb and Jim were once upon a time married in Central Park so it seemed right to go back to that waterfall and take some anniversary photos! This couple lives in Nebraska but travels all over the world and we were so glad we got to capture them while they are in town!
We loved meeting this family! They wanted to celebrate their new little boy, Elliot with a summer session in Central Park. Big sister Audrey had some smiles and especially after some ice cream!
Noelle and Zaid had two ceremonies, the first one was a small intimate Islamic ceremony. It was emotional and very sweet but so was their ceremony for all their guests. It’s great when you get tears from the bride, but also the groom and all the parents? Love it! Emotion! Keep us photographers going!
After the ceremonies everyone got ready for dancing and toasting in a room that on one side looked out at the Empire State Building and on the other side all of downtown Manhattan. The Manhattan Penthouse was a beautiful venue and right in the middle of it all! Congrats to Noelle and Zaid!
Noelle and Zaid had a beautiful New York City wedding at the Manhattan Penthouse and IHNY was there to capture it all! We loved meeting this awesome couple a few months ago when we shot their IHNY session and knew their wedding would also be great.
We met Noelle at the Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. After an awesome first look with Zaid outside on the sidewalk we walked over to Madison Square Park for some fun pictures. Then we hopped in taxis and off to Washington Square Park where we met up with their families. More coming up soon from the ceremony and reception!
